The Cranial
Nerves

12 nerves. Countless connections.
Discover how neuroanatomy becomes practical, hands-on reflexology.

The connection between brain and body

Small nerves.
Extraordinary functions.

The twelve pairs of cranial nerves connect us to the world through our senses, control eye movements and facial expression, coordinate swallowing and speech, and contribute to the regulation of our internal organs.

In this three-part course, we explore all twelve cranial nerves - their anatomy, pathways and functions - and translate that knowledge into relevant, practical reflexology techniques.

Understand the pathway.
Recognise the connections.
Refine the treatment.
From anatomy to practice

Five approaches.
One integrated perspective.

We combine established reflexology maps with targeted nerve reflex techniques, local fascial work and an understanding of the brainstem.

Nerve Reflexology

Specific nerve reflex points and practical demonstrations related to individual cranial nerves.

Classical Reflexology

Relevant foot reflex zones and ways to integrate them into treatment.

The Lind Method

Additional reflex zones and treatment possibilities that complement the other approaches.

Fascial Techniques

Techniques for working with accessible tissues around nerve pathways, both locally on the body and through foot reflexes.

Brainstem Treatment

Reflexology approaches to the brainstem, where most cranial nerves have their nuclei, and its role in sensory, motor and autonomic functions.

Clinical Integration

Bring the different techniques together into thoughtful, individualised treatment strategies.

The brainstem connection

Most cranial nerve nuclei are located in the brainstem. Here, sensory information, motor coordination and autonomic control are closely intertwined.

We examine these relationships and demonstrate brainstem-oriented reflexology techniques that can be incorporated into a broader treatment approach.

Connections beyond the head

One nerve can reach far beyond its origin.

The vagus nerve is a striking example: it connects the brainstem with the heart, lungs and digestive organs.

Understanding the cranial nerves as part of larger functional networks offers a useful perspective when planning treatment.

Detailed anatomy meets precise touch.

We study the actual anatomical pathways and then show how this understanding can inform work through the feet and locally on the body.

What you will take away

Knowledge you can use in the clinic.

Three focused sessions combining neuroanatomy, clinical thinking and practical demonstration.

  • Understand the anatomy and principal functions of all twelve cranial nerves.
  • Recognise important pathways and anatomical relationships.
  • Locate and apply relevant nerve reflex points and foot reflex zones.
  • Explore fascial techniques for accessible tissues along nerve pathways.
  • Understand the role of the brainstem and its cranial nerve nuclei.
  • Combine the approaches into individualised treatment sequences.
